Seeking the epic story behind everyday life.

INSPIRED BY THE DUALITY OF OUR NATURE.

A deep attachment to landscape and affinity for mystery is readily evident in Lori’s highly abstracted artwork. She pays attention to organic shapes and colors, shifting perspectives and layered perception. Her architectural background provides a structural and conceptual framework for her paintings. Years of meditation practices support her search for the beauty, power and mystery that underlie the things we see and experience in everyday life. Lee Bontecou, Joan Mitchell, John Marin and Odilon Redon are sources of inspiration, as is the occasional glass of single malt whiskey.

Lori exhibits across Canada and the United States in juried shows at public and private galleries, as well as critically acclaimed art fairs such as Red Dot Miami, Art Expo New York, and Art Santa Fe. Her work is found in the collections of the New York Department of Education, Dalhousie University, Edmonton Public Schools and in private collections internationally. Her paintings have been featured in Contemporary Art and Professional Artist magazines, in two television shows and on the cover of two jazz albums.

Born in Edmonton, Lori has returned to the prairies after many years in New York, Boston, Montreal and Vancouver. She how lives and works in Smoky Lake, Alberta, Canada.

Lori talks about her inspiration and working process in this short video.
