Drawings Monotypes collage
For a couple of years, as some temporary physical constraints made working on large paintings difficult, my studio practice focused on smaller works on paper. These pieces incorporate drawing, monotype printing and/or collage.
While they may look somewhat different than my paintings, they are an exploration of many of the same things: a limited color palette (within each piece), layering and translucency, organic mark making, interplay between the organic and the rectilinear (the edge of the paper). The titles often reflect a sense of landscape and/or mystery and wonder, a depth of feeling into the world we see and walk upon.
