This piece is part of the “Out Of The Box” series, based on a classic design exercise called ‘expanded square’. Starting with a square, you cut a shape out of one edge and flip it outward. Then you do it again, and again… Whlle playful and even meditative, making these pieces clarified my unique sense of shape, proportion, positive and negative space, and balance.
