I live at the northern edge of the Canadian prairie, where the boreal forest starts to inform the landscape. Rolling valleys, rock, lakes and a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees create texture and colour that is distinctly different from the open prairie and you can get lost in the tangle of trees and brush.
